Slam House Eyes Boxing, Models

In early September, entrepreneur & publicist Michael Bentley announced that he was officially launching his own music label that wouldn’t function as a music label with Slam House. It created quite the industry stir with the news debuting on The Source Magazine and on Blitzweekly.

Now it seems Bentley’s vision for “the future of the entertainment world,” is starting to come to light even though Bentley said nothing would happen besides funding until 2015.

The immediate focus for Slam House Agency Group seems to be two things, Models and Boxing.

Boxing

Slam House Vice-President and Co-Founder, Neal Foggie was in Atlantic City last week meeting with both investors and boxing promotion companies. Although there was no official release yet, speculation has been high.

Mike Authinik, head of development within Slam House, was also in Atlantic City last weekend for the Bernard Hopkins vs Sergey Kovalev match. Authinik was spotted with rapper/actor 50 Cent, who now runs his own boxing promotions company, SMS Promotions, and he was also spotted at the Golden Boy after party.

SMS Promotions, Golden Boy, Top Rank, or even Roc Nation have all been linked to Slam House in the rumor mill online.

Bentley is the executive producer of a national syndicated sports radio show, Thru the Wire, which has featured major boxers such as Larry Holmes and Fast Eddie Chambers and new comers like Saul Rodriguez and Emanuel Steward’s former protege, Anthony Barnes.

Boxing seems like a priority for Slam House.

Models

Boxing is just one of the two. The second focus for Slam House is Models. That focus is also starting to come to light.

Slam House is about to sign model/actress, Shaquana Mitchell, and a major movie role seems on the heels of the signing.

Shaquana has a mild resume that does include working with the Queens rap group Mobb Deep. It seems actress and not model might be more of the Slam House agenda as they have purchased a screen play with ties to Lion Gates Film.

Authinik was quiet when asked about the signing of Mitchell on fight night Saturday, but the screen play does have a major lead female character. Well, at least that is what Bentley said on an interview with THTBH earlier this month.

Music

Neither Bentley and Foggie haven’t downplayed signing musicians, and they are still preparing a national tour for early 2015 with the Music Journal Series and DJ Fade.

Whether it is the sport of boxing, the beauty of models, or the next, great musician it seems Slam House is preparing major moves in 2015.

Robin Williams dead at 63

Oscar winner and comedian Robin Williams died this morning at 63. While his publicist wouldn’t confirm that his death was a suicide, a rep did issue this statement. “Robin Williams passed away this morning. He has been battling severe depression of late. This is a tragic and sudden loss.

8-year-old tried to save brother, 6, from grandma

Mason Rhinehart and his brother were playing video games in their suburban Tallahassee home Tuesday morning when their grandmother, Martha White, interrupted to say she had a surprise for them.

White, 63, who had been babysitting the boys in Killearn Lakes Plantation, Fla., then took 6-year-old Mason into the bathroom and locked the door behind her, a probable cause affidavit said. Mason’s brother, age 8, heard him start to cry from behind the door and say, “I don’t want to die, please don’t kill me.”

The boy said he tried to get in the bathroom, but could not. He then called his father and hid, court documents said.

Within five minutes, first responders were on the scene and found Mason lying on the bathroom floor with multiple stab wounds to the chest, said Lt. James McQuaig, Leon County Sheriff’s Office spokesman. Leon County Emergency Medical Services rushed him to the hospital, but Mason did not survive.

White was not there when deputies arrived but the boys’ parents said she was the one home with them while they were at work.

Mason’s brother said he saw White leave the home with a bottle of wine but not before telling him she “had a surprise for him too,” court documents said. McQuaig said Mason’s brother was not injured in the incident.

Deputies identified White as a suspect when they found her covered in blood at the dead end of a block, about a half-mile away from the boys’ parents’ home. White’s clothing was covered with blood, court documents said. She also had a bottle of wine and a Xanax.

White was taken to a local hospital for medical evaluation, even though she didn’t appear to be injured, McQuaig said. She remained under evaluation until Wednesday morning, when she was transferred to the Leon County Jail and booked on a charge of first-degree murder. White showed little emotion as she was led in handcuffs into the female holding cell about 24 hours after deputies were initially called to the scene.

It is still too early in the investigation to identify a motive for the stabbing, McQuaig said. However, White told deputies she was “fed up.”

“We are not clear on the motive at this point in time,” McQuaig said. “That’s one of the many things that the investigators are continuing to dig into.”

An autopsy began Wednesday on Mason and search warrants for White, her car and her home were served Tuesday and Wednesday. McQuaig did not reveal the weapon used in the killing, or say who called 911.

Mason, who would have turned 7 on Thursday, was heading into second grade at Killearn Lakes Elementary School. Principal Brenda Wagner sent an e-mail to parents and the school community Wednesday.

“This letter comes to you with great concern and emotion,” Wagner said. “Our deepest sympathy goes out to the family and friends.”

Efforts to reach the family Wednesday were unsuccessful.

Asher Roth Releases Song to Confirm Sexuality.

It has been over 4 since Asher Roth famously came out of the closet and announced he was the gay rapper that Terrence Dean was about to release a book on titled, “Hiding in Hip Hop”. His manager and team quickly made Roth dismiss the claim as a joke.

Roth had to fire his long time best friend and hype man because he was too “open” according to Roth’s new label, Def Jam. Roth put out a few projects, but never gaining any major attention. After Frank Ocean came out in 2012 to a ton of success, Roth wanted to share in the happiness(gayness?).

Now Roth is here with new single confirming that he is indeed gay. Apples and Bananas is a video that showcases a model who is suppose to be Transexual hip hop dancer, Sidney Starr, and the meaning of the song, “Eating Apples and Banana’s” is a reference to “gay oral sex”. *(Reports from Asher’s camp say it wasn’t Sidney Starr, but another transexual that Asher picked)
