Drake is bracing for more than just the release of his debut album,Thank Me Later, these days.

The Young Money artist is bracing to fulfill the promise he made to his mentor and Young Money CEO Lil Wayne before he started his one year bid at New York State's Rikers Island, to lead the YM camp in his absence.

"I'm gonna do everything I told him I would do, what I said in the song: keep us afloat till he gets back. You won't even notice he's gone.”

When asked about his feelings surrounding Lil' Wayne's incarceration and situation he states to MTV:

“I don't think fame really has anything to do with his situation. We take precautions. All of us do. To be in the public eye and to be envied and have people who hate you and never have met you or have people who love you and tattoo your face on their body and never have met you, it's an odd feeling for anybody. It's a rush [for me]. I love it. It gets weird sometimes.
So it's just personal choices we all make. I never felt that threatened. I'm not sure what's going through his head at the time. But Wayne has a reason for everything, always. I trust in Wayne. I believe in Wayne. He's gonna be all right."

Billboard is reporting that Michael Barber’s second installment of his movie based hip hop series, Motion Picture Mayhem, sold 8,800 copies in it’s first week on Itunes. This is according to Billboard and Hits Daily Double.

The numbers are likely down because the project was originally attended for a free download and released last year on 155 web sites. The album was released after Michael signed to Universal Records, but it had zero if any marketing behind it.

Michael’s debut on Universal Records, “Shotguns and Canned Goods,” is due out this year.

Michael was an engineer/producer for rapper Nas on his “Street Disciple” album, and has worked with rappers from the Wu Tang Clan, Akon, and Nappy Roots.

Rappers Calling for Boycott of John Mayer and Asher Roth after Racial Comments

As John Mayer's Playboy interview comes out this week, many of hip hop's elite are calling for a boycott on the singers album. Mayer is quoted over and over with racial slurs, even claiming to have a "hood pass" that is equal to a "n*gger pass". He also compares his penis to "a white supremacist" when asked about dating african american women.

Many of the rappers on board calling for the boycott include, Joell Ortiz, who also wants people to remember Asher Roth and his racist comment last year. Asher tweeted that he was "hanging out with Nappy Headed Hoe's" while he was performing at Rutgers University, the same University that Don Imus was fired for saying the same comment about.

During Black History Month this is terrible coming from both artists.

Both artists did apologize, but it might have been too little too late.

The range of artists calling for the boycott goes from Joell Ortiz, to Sean Combs, to Anthony Hamilton, to The Dream.

Youth in Revolt on Hip Hop Steroids Book is on it's way, delivered by Award winning writer, Doc Hughes

So Award winning writer, Jay "Doc" Hughes, is setting out to write a 2010 lingo book with the same type of feel as the new movie, "Youth in Revolt".

In an exclusive article that also featured Kanye West, on the hip hop website, 808sandBootlegs, Hughes talks about his book which is inspired by Youth in Revolt and the famous book, "Burn Down The Night" a fictional look at Jim Morrison's life.

Hughes is best known for his screenwriting on CSI, and 7 other television shows, is a hip hop purist and says this book will "defiantly be considered for a movie or screen play adaptation".

Hughes also stated that he plans to just release the book online and via kindles, stating that is the new way of distribution.

The title of the book, "Remembering Nights I don't Remember Nights", is only making us to believe that Doc Hughes is going back to his days of drug use.

The book will be a fiction based novel based on real events.

If it is like the C.D. Payne Novels with a 2010 twist, we are in for a great book.

His label then puts out a press release saying "He isn't gay and not dropped from SRC", but they do so with the most hood picture you will ever see of Asher. Trying to get street cred points back?

Kia Shine, who co-wrote the biggest hit of the year, Drake's "Best I Ever Had", is now going to co-write all of Sean Combs new album.

Kia Shine has written songs for, Jim Jones, Drake, and Lil Wayne, got Diddy's attention for his business manner and his hit-making ability.

Combs was going to have an all auto tune album, but changed his mind after Jay-Z's, Death of Auto-tune song.

Kia Shine recently put out his own mix tape, "The Alarm Clock Theory" with Don Cannon.

KRS One Set to Help Homeless on Turkey Day

In giving back to his community for the holidays, legendary emcee KRS-One has teamed up with The Bowery Mission to help serve the homeless food on Thanksgiving. From 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., KRS is expected to serve over 3,000 meals, while also giving his time and inspiration to those in need.

Homeless at a younger age, The Teacha himself found guidance at The Bowery Mission. As they helped him, he too would like to help others in need. “I am participating in The Bowery Mission’s Thanksgiving food drive and event because I myself was once homeless, walking these very streets, and spending time with these wonderful people at The Bowery Mission. I depended on them to survive.”

Understanding his significance within the Hip Hop community, KRS-One continued, “I am showing up for Thanksgiving this year to not only lend a hand, but hope that I am may inspire others in the Hip Hop community to consider their role towards helping the homeless, and join me by helping those in your community that need help during this holiday season.”

Adding KRS-One, “Homelessness is a pandemic, and most people do not realize the severity of the situation. You may be homeless one day yourself. I urge the Hip Hop nation to live up to the true nature of our culture and give.”

Following his recent arrest on burglary charges, comedian Katt Williams spoke out against the charges brought against him.

“I did not steal when I was homeless, if I did not steal when I was starving, then I certainly will not steal $3,500 worth of jewelry,” Katt Williams told Rasha Entertainment in a video interview.

Williams was officially charged with burglary and criminal trespassing on Monday, November 9 after being arrested for allegedly breaking into the Georgia home of a man by the name ofDaniel Broach.

“They thought that I was an average typical negro,” explained Williams. “I am no such a thing. I don't talk like it. I don't act like it. I don't walk like it and I don't hang with people that do.”

Near the end of October, Beanie Sigel was rumored to have a beef to settle with Jay-Z. Confirming this, Sigel shocked fans with a dis record aimed towards Jigga. Since then, Jayhas replied and Beans has started a new buzz surrounding a move to G-Unit.

Now, 50 Cent is saying that time will tell.

"I had a meeting with him today," 50 told MTV in an interview today (Thursday November 12). "First we gotta start with the music — where's the music? Then we have to get into what it would take to bring him over to G-Unit as a record company. You can't sign a deal in a conversation — it's a process. We'll see what happens."

However, things are heating up with this rumor. The two have recorded a new song, "I Go Off," which just adds to the notion that something is brewing between Sigel and G-Unit. Furthermore, the two seem to be aiming their words at Jay-Z, but this is cemented when 50mentions Hov by name.

Style Network TV host, Danielle Fishel, is now dating hip hop artist, Michael Barber. It was seen on Danielle's twitter page, and later report on dozens of hip hop web sites. Danielle also twittered a free download link to Michael Barber's new album, Motion Picture Mayhem.

The two met at a Cancer charity event in June in the Dallas-Fort Worth Texas area.

Danielle, who besides hosting the hit show, The Dish, also works for Fuse Network as a writer on the show The Fuse 20. Danielle is the former girlfriend of now gay, Backstreet Boy, Lance Bass.

Michael is an artist signed to Universal Records through Hoopla Media Group.

Danielle had been rumored to be in Michael Barber's Pink Floyd Wall like movie musically, "Shotguns and Canned Goods," that Michael originally went to Universal Records with looking for a budget. The screen play has been bought by an independent film company. Universal will release the music on an album, "Shotguns and Canned Goods".

In the current issue of Elite Magazine (released November 3, 2009), Celebrity publicist, Jonathan Hay reveals some very shocking and embarrassing information on Megan Fox.

Jonathan Hay says:

“But I can’t even look at her [Megan Fox] without laughing because I know from one of my journalist friends who has interviewed her that she suffers with a constant problem passing gas. He told me that during her interview, she kept passing gas and that a member of her team tried to cover it up by saying that she was suffering from temporary illness. But in my opinion, it’s quite clear — Megan Fox: her shit does stink.”

Elite Magazine: Going back to the title of your book “Publicity Stunt: the Art of Noise”, obviously publicity is a good thing for people trying to make it in this business, but do you think it can have a negative effect instead of a positive one?
